EPHRATA— Othello’s Lady Huskies softball team traveled to Ephrata on Friday and showed the Lady Tigers who was boss.

Othello (14-2, 12-2) put together two strong offensive showings to back strong pitching efforts as they cruised to a 9-1 and 22-2 doubleheader sweep.

In game one Eden Garza pitched a four-hitter for Othello as the Lady Huskies recorded 10 hits. Garza also got eight Ephrata batters out via strikeout.

Kylee Mollotte went 3-for-4 with two triples and six RBI, Kim Bullis went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Sarah McMartin completed a 2-for-3 day.

The second game saw Othello break out for 22 hits and Brenda Rodriguez pitch a three-hitter in the win.

Mollotte went 2-for-4, as did Bullis, while Breanne Montemayor finished 4-for-5 with a double, Alyssa Martinez ended up 3-for-5 as did Garza.

Jasmine Gallardo completed a 4-for-5 day and Daisy Salgado ended up 2-for-4.

Othello put the game away in the sixth with an 11-run sixth inning.

Ephrata’s Sarah McMartin finished 3-for-3 in game one and Skylar Lund went 2-for-3 with a double in game two.

Warden 20-27, Wahluke 0-3

WARDEN — It may be reasonable to say the South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC) East knows who is in charge.

Say hello to the Warden Lady Cougars.

Warden improved to 7-1 and moved to the top of the SCAC standings with a crushing 20-0, 27-3 sweep of Wahluke on Friday.

Warden (11-3, 7-1) earned a no-hit win in game one as pitchers Iris Rodriguez, Cassondra Platas, and Randi Wright teamed up to keep the Wahluke bats silent.

Wright also did well at the plate finishing 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, Rodriguez finished 2-for-2 with a homerun, and a double with four RBI, and Tawnie Gonsalez completed a 3-for-3 game with a homer and a double while knocking in two runs.

In the nightcap, Wright earned the win behind a 3-hit effort.

Warden recorded 25 hits and were aided by eight Wahluke errors.

Wright went 5-for-5, hitting two doubles and two triples and knocked in four runs.

Rodriguez went 3-for-4 including two homeruns and brought in five runs and her teammate Narcy Guerra hit a double and a triple to finish 3-for-4 with two RBI.
