Idol to play for Fighting Saints
Whitefish Pilot | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 14 years, 11 months AGO
Whitefish High School 2009 graduate and former Bulldog basketball standout Colt Idol has transferred from Montana State University-Bozeman to Carroll College in Helena.
Idol will be a redshirt freshman for the Fighting Saints basketball team this coming season. He didn't play in any games while with the Bobcats.
"Being in a program that has a strong core and is competitive every year was a huge part of my decision," Idol said. "Coming out of high school, Carroll and MSU were my top-two choices, and after a year at Bozeman, it seems like Carroll would be a better fit for me."
Idol averaged 20.3 points a game for the Bulldogs as a senior, and he is the school's all-time leading point scorer.
Carroll College plays in the Frontier Conference and is a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) school. The Saints lost in the first round of the conference playoffs 64-65 to Rocky Mountain and finished with a 13-16 overall record. Brandon Veltri is the mens head basketball coach.
