MOSES LAKE — Ten-year-old Annie Roemer’s birthday wish of bringing a bounce house to her party inspired a new business.

Kangaroo’s Bounce House and Party Rentals was opened last year by her parents, Rob and Mary Roemer.

“As we started researching bounce house rental availability and talking to parents, we realized there was a great need here and in the surrounding areas for a party rental company geared to kids,” explained Mary on Thursday.

The business also rents machines to make cotton candy, SnoKones, popcorn, nachos and hot dogs.

They offer large inflatable slides, face painting, airbrush tattoo art and party games.

The Roemers are seeking an appropriate building to hold indoor parties for customers.

They haven’t made a decision, but some considerations included a room at the Moses Lake Event Center and the former movie theater in downtown Moses Lake.

The business has grown since its opening, allowing Mary to step down from her other job.

“We’re just blown away at the support we’ve got,” she says. “It’s just awesome.

She’s able to bring both her daughters Emily, 11,  and Annie, 10, to the parties.

“They love being involved,” she says.

Once the tents are inflated, the girls inspect the tents for “cleanliness and bounceablity,” Mary comments.

“It’s been fun,” she says. “It’s really been fun, just to see the little kids get excited. My kids are excited to help. It’s fun.”

Rob spoke about the business’s commitment to customer service.

“Parties are meant to be fun, not a lot of work,” he says.  “That is why we deliver, set up, tear down and clean our equipment for each party at no additional cost to our customers.”
