Kalispell Regional Medical Center on June 16 will open a medical clinic inside the new Walmart Supercenter on U.S. 93 in north Kalispell.

The Clinic at Walmart is designed to provide convenient, fast, affordable basic health-care services. The clinic offers check-ups, immunizations, limited X-rays, screenings and treatment of minor injuries, according to a news release from the hospital.

The walk-in clinic is the first clinic in a retail store owned and operated by Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

In the press release, the hospital said this “one-stop shopping” experience combines an urgent care clinic with get-well and stay-well services. 

As an example, the clinic’s providers can treat sore throats, sinus infections, upper respiratory infections, earaches, bladder infections, insect bites and stings. Services also include cholesterol screenings, blood sugar testing, drug screening and routine physicals.

The clinic aims to serve busy families who need affordable care during evenings and weekends at a convenient location.

Linda Iverson, director of physician and retail services, said the clinic fulfills the hospital’s mission of offering more health-care solutions to the community.

“Our clinic is staffed with licensed health-care providers, even on nights and weekends,” Iverson said.

“The clinic’s hours will offer alternative options for patient who might otherwise use the emergency room at the hospital.”

Bruce Shepard, Walmart’s director of health business development, said the store constantly looks for ways to add value for customers.

“Because Kalispell Regional Medical Center is a well-known, respected health-care provider in the community, our customers will benefit from the convenience of prompt, professional care from an organization that they know and trust,” he said.
