Jonathan Ray Ondov left this world for the heavenly stage, at age 55 on April 6, 2010, in Kalispell, from complications due to Type 1 diabetes. A Montana native, Jonathan was born in Missoula on Oct. 23, 1954. He also lived in Nebraska, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He later moved to Washington to continue his education, worked for Boeing Inc., married and raised two sons. Jonathan lived in Livingston and Kalispell during his last five years of life to be closer to his family. He enjoyed golf and bicycling, writing poetry and prose, homemade bread, the game of Scrabble and crosswords, and Swan Lake vacations. Next to his strong faith in Jesus, his Lord and Savior, he loved acting the most, having performed in community theaters throughout his life. Most recently, his role as R.P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest received many accolades from his peers and audiences. Jonathan is survived by two sons, Likhi and Elisha Ondov, of Federal Way, Wash.; his parents, the Rev. Daniel and Lorraine Ondov, of Billings; brother, David Ondov, and Carol, of Kalispell; sister, Rachel Feigley, and Pete, of Livingston; niece, Sarah Schmautz, and Seth, of Kalispell; and nephew, Mark Ondov, of Florida. He also leaves a multitude of cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Ondov. Cremation has occurred and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. June 26, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2336 St. Johns Ave., in Billings. A luncheon and gathering of friends and relatives will be held at the church following interment at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor can be sent to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org); the Blue Slipper Theatre (www.blueslipper.com), or Firehouse 5 Playhouse Theatre (www.crazymountainproductions.org), both of Livingston; or a charity of choice. Jonathan s compassion for others and his passion for performing and all things spiritual will be missed!
