EPHRATA — There are several elected positions up for re-election in Grant and Adams counties this year.
The filing period begins June 7 and ends at 5 p.m. on June 11.
People wishing to run for a position must go to their respective courthouses in either Grant or Adams counties, depending on which county they live in.
The Grant County Courthouse is located at 35 C St. NW, in Ephrata.
The Adams County Courthouse is located at 210 West Broadway Ave., in Ritzville.
People must complete a declaration of candidacy form and pay the applicable filing fee. Potential candidates must be registered voters and live within the boundaries of the office they are running for.
“Candidates seeking a partisan office may designate a party preference at the time of filing; however this does not imply an endorsement or nomination by a political party,” according to the Grant County Auditor’s Office. “These designations may not be changed between the primary and general elections. The two candidates with the most votes in the primary will appear on the general election ballot.”
The Grant County Courthouse can be contacted at 509-754-2011.
The Adams County Courthouse can be contacted at 509-659-3254.
