MOSES LAKE — The recent opening of the new Real Deals Home Decor franchise was successful, the business’s co-owners said this week.
On opening day, there were lines out the door, recalled co-owner Kirsha Widdis. She owns the business with her twin sister, Jermaine Marler.
The business’s Facebook page showed positive comments online about the business.
“There was tons of positive feedback,” Widdis said. “People were thanking us for bringing this to Moses Lake. It’s really exciting.”
There were 129 transactions recorded for opening day and at least twice that many people.
“Very few people left empty-handed,” Widdis recalled.
Her husband, Jason Widdis, owns Equity Builders in Moses Lake and helped his wife and sister-in-law by moving doors and walls at the new business.
“It was awesome,” Kirsha said. “We probably didn’t get as big a bill as most people would have.”
She described operating the business as “super fun. Setting up the store was crazy, but it didn’t feel like work.”
She last lived in Seattle and found she missed stores like TJ Maxx, Ross and Marshalls upon arriving in Moses Lake two years ago.
A visit to the Real Deals location in the Tri-Cities got her interested in opening a franchise in Moses Lake.
There are 80 stores in the national chain, with locations in Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Arizona, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, South Carolina and Georgia.
They plan to listen to their customers’ comments and “keep all the fun stuff coming so we can keep everyone happy.” Kirsha says.
The Moses Lake store is located at 1014 W. Marina Dr., Moses Lake.
