Bigfork netters claim B-C state

MISSOULA - Cut Bank, which had won eight-straight Class B-C state boys tennis championships, gave way to Bigfork on Saturday.
The Vikings, led by singles runner-up Bridger Mahlum and doubles runner-up Ryan Gembala and Evan Jordt, piled up 43 points to win going away in its return to Class B after spending more than 10 years in Class A.
Cut Bank and Valley Christian tied for second with 29.
Bigfork's girls also earned a state trophy, tying for third place with Baker with 23 points each. Chinook edged Cut Bank 36-33 for the team title.
The Valkyries' Jade Bosic
finished second in singles.
The finals of the three-day event were held at Lindsay Tennis Center.
