Cecil Keith Main was born March 3, 1942, to Rose and Keith Main in Kalispell. He passed away at home on May 23, 2010, after a struggle with cancer. After graduating from Flathead County High School in 1960, Cecil attended the University of Montana. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, spending two years active duty and an additional two years in the Reserves. He married Cheryl Morrow on Dec. 29, 1966. Cecil worked on the seven-mile train tunnel in Trego and from there he went to rental and sales of heavy equipment in Seattle, Portland and Spokane. In 1974 he went to work for the Spokane County Road Department. ( Ya know, Cecil was the guy that always plowed your driveway shut with snow just after you had shoveled it out. ) Cecil and Cheryl didn t have any kids, so in 1983 Cecil built their dream house in Newman Lake, Wash., to put his stamp on this earth. In 2004, Cecil retired from the County to take up his real passions, whether it be at Liberty Lake or Meadow Wood golf courses in spring and summer, and bowling league in fall and winter. Cecil was league treasurer for Liberty Lake and Meadow Wood golf courses and also bowling treasurer for two bowling leagues. He also loved fishing, hunting and playing pinochle or cribbage. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, at the house he built; mother-in-law, Louise; sister-in-law, Jean, and her husband, Dan Stetler; brother-in-law, John, and his wife, Randee Morrow; brother-in-law, Bob, and his wife, Kelly Morrow, all of the Kalispell area; nieces, Michelle Beck, Sarah and her husband, Dan Fjheld, and their son Gabe, and Maren and her husband, Aaron King, and their children, Sadee and Jonathan, Jemma and Julia Morrow. He is also survived by many relatives and friends in Spokane and Kalispell. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, at Greenacres Christian Church, 18010 E. Mission, Greenacres, WA 99016. A memorial service will be held in Kalispell at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Greenacres Christian Church.
