MOSES LAKE — Live entertainment in the form of a lip sync contest and the Spring Fest Idol competition are planned at the McCosh Park amphitheatre this weekend.
The lip sync contest is Friday and begins at 8 p.m., said D.J. Dale Roth. It is the 30th annual lip sync contest.
The theme of the event is Friday Night Fever, he said. Entertainers will dress up in clothing from the 1970s era, dance and lip sync for prizes.
The first place winner gets $300, second place wins $150 and third place gets $75, Roth said.
The fifth annual Spring Fest Idol competition begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
It’s a chance for singers to compete for the top prize, a two-hour recording session to make a demo CD at Moses Lake Music.
From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., the entertainment features singers 17 years old and younger. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the contest features singers 18 years old and up.
Other live entertainment is planned throughout the weekend.
On Friday at 10 a.m. Moses Lake School District choirs and bands will perform.
At 3 p.m. Voice of a New Day is featured.
From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. dance routines will be performed by Today’s Generation, Moses Lake Ballet Academy and the Rock’n B Cloggers.
On Sunday beginning at 11 a.m., performances are scheduled for Journey Church and Praise Band, The Kenny Nash Band, Holly Starr, Eric Engerbretson and The Coats.
Beginning at dusk is a free movie at McCosh Park.
All of Friday’s and Sunday’s performances are at the Centennial Amphitheatre.
