Unholy alliance turns into ungodly mess

Technically, adultery is still illegal in Idaho but that didn’t stop the Ron Paulers from coupling with Saul Alinsky and his vile Rules for Radicals techniques. The bastard child of this illicit union is the victory of Raul Labrador. What we now have is a 1st Congressional District candidate who is un-vetted and thus wide open to the incessant sniping of the small creatures who proudly took down Vaughn Ward. Watching this nexus of rumor mongering, cut and paste video and elevating to hero status a small and vindictive blogger, was akin to watching a microbe take down Man ‘O War. Where is penicillin when you need it? And if anyone has any, they’d better get a supply to Labrador because the disease is heading his way.
Raul Labrador has condoned the very behavior he claims to loathe, thus his “icing on the cake” remark. Raul, politically is a “Dead Man Walking” (yep, I borrowed that phrase). The creativity needed to take down Vaughn Ward will not have to be utilized in the general election. Anyone who thinks that liberal columnists actually find nothing wrong with a Republican candidate are delusional. That delusion has a very short life span.
The disconcerting truth is that the crowd rejoicing at the victory of Raul Labrador is comprised of the conspiracy-besotted, empty headed Far Right and the much more strategic Left. This adultery has gotten completely out of hand and will lead to a diminished Republican Party and the decline of America as those who would spend us out of existence remain in power. Reasonable people of conservative stance have been crowded out by those who show zero curiosity regarding why one candidate is constantly investigated and reported on, while the other gets a pass. I understand that the drive for victory can leave some with no zeal for the truth but how can it explain the complete lack of ethics? Why was a cheap-shot artist with a vendetta treated as a hero when he admitted he’d edited heavily to create propaganda? His words, not mine, “No, it wasn’t accurate - it was a piece of propaganda, and people thought there was enough truth in it to change their votes.” That’s what Raul Labrador calls “Icing on the cake”? This can’t possibly be good for my beloved Republican Party.
If this trend continues, every superlative candidate will be cut down, with lack-luster unknowns stepping up to the plate only to be defeated in the General Election. Does anyone remember how John McCain was treated by the press during the 2008 Primary? He was touted as the smart candidate for Republicans to select. This may seem subtle but when you allow the Democrats to tell you how to vote, it just might be a set-up, the fact that liberals don’t want to run against a strong candidate might be a clue. The irony is that the assemblage that called Vaughn Ward the “mini-McCain” just successfully elected a stand-up, shoot-down McCain clone.
I know this message is unwelcome and the justified anger of traditional conservatives will be deliberately misunderstood. It’s not that we disdain the Constitution, as the Ron Paul faction would assert, it’s that we love our State and Nation. I fully comprehend that this will be called sour grapes but in actuality it’s the grapes of wrath for the Republican Party in Idaho.
