I want to thank all the men and women that have served this great nation. You are a huge part of what makes the United States a great place to live. I have been present when people have spoken their anger at the service men and women that have put their lives on the line for all of us, including the ones who have no reverence for our Armed Forces or the Nation. Of course me being me, I did not hold my tongue, but I believe the following is true:

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks nothing is worth a war, is worse. A man who has nothing for which he cares more than his own personal safety is a miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless he is made free and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”

Again I thank you so much for your service—you are an American Hero.

The true meaning of Memorial Day

This past weekend was Memorial weekend. I watched and listened to so many different people talk about the plans they had for the long weekend. It has become a recreational holiday for most.
