West Shore News | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 15 years, 1 month AGO
Local authorities were combing the West Shore on Wednesday evening in search of a man who robbed a Lakeside bank.
A man alleged to be in his 50s and wearing a red and white motorcycle helmet entered Glacier Bank, located on U.S. Highway 93, at about 4 p.m. demanding money and then fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.
The man is reported to be between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-4, with glasses and a gray mustache. He was wearing a black coat, the helmet, dark colored jeans and white tennis shoes at the time, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man left the bank on a white YZ Yamaha 185CC with lime green lettering.
Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the detective’s division at 758-5600 or dispatch at 758-5610.
This is the second robbery at a bank around Flathead Lake within the last two months. The other was Sept. 25 at First Interstate Bank, also by a helmeted robber. That incident also occurred at about 4 p.m.
The suspect in that robbery was described as being of medium build and between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, making him allegedly several inches taller than the suspect in Wednesday’s incident.
