Johnson scores 2 in Chiefs' victory

SPOKANE - Former Coeur d'Alene Laker Tyler Johnson scored two goals as the Spokane Chiefs defeated the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-3 in a Western Hockey League game in front of 6,479 at the Spokane Arena on Friday night.

Anthony Bardaro scored his fifth goal of the season for Spokane, which led 3-0 midway through the second. Edmonton cut its deficit 3-2 before Levko Koper scored a power-play goal with 2:11 remaining to give the Chiefs a 4-2 lead.

Edmonton scored a late power-play goal as Spokane went 7 of 8 on the penalty kill.

James Reid had 37 saves for Spokane (9-8-1), which hosts Tri-City tonight at 7 at the Spokane Arena.
