Troy, Bonners bowlers team up for 1st at doubles tourney

John Brown of Troy and Lyle Kittell of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, teamed up recently to take first place in a 72-team handicapped doubles tournament at Westside Lanes in Missoula.
Over the course of the tournament, Brown rolled an average scratch score of 204 while Kittell averaged 226. Out of 11 games, Brown bowled 200-plus on six occasions.
In the final match, Brown had a game of 192 while Kittell rolled a 228.
Also recently, Brown finished third nationally in the True Amateurs Tournament in Las Vegas.
Brown has several more tournaments on his agenda, including a national seniors event coming up in Reno, Nev.
