MOSES LAKE - Brent Leishman takes pride in his new Moses Lake business, Brent's Automotive & Muffler.

It's located at 2237 W. Main St.

Before the business opened recently, new floors and counter tops were added, along with a fresh coat of paint, he said.

"I didn't want it to look like a general repair shop," Leishman commented.

Leishman, a Moses Lake native, has 23 years of experience in automotive repairs.

He opened a new business because he was self-employed for most of this life and was tired of being retired.

Opening the shop has gone better than he thought it would.

The business offers engine installation, brake repair and differential work.

One of his three employees, Rich Paris, does exhaust work and has 15 years of experience.

Leishman says he tries to work in the garage with his employees.

They handle nearly all makes and models, he said.

The business also offers free Wi-Fi and coffee to customers.

Free inspections are available until mid-December, which includes checking antifreeze, brakes and belts and ensuring the vehicle's safety.

The inspection is a $65 value.
