Austin Von Tom finished 15th, scoring a 95.

Owens said he expects his top-three boys to make an impact at state.

“It’s whether they can put two days together [of golfing],” Owens said. “They can definitely be in the hunt for a medal.”

For Ronan, junior Riley Dennis finished 11th with an 88 and sophomore Payton Adams was 13th with a 90.

While the Ronan boys finished with a score of 390, which was outside of the top three that qualify for state, Dennis and Adams qualified for state by placing in the top 15.

In the girls’ standings, senior Amy Williamson paced Polson once again with a 90 and placed third, junior Kat Medland was fifth with a 100. Freshman Jaylin Kenney was sixth with a 103, sophomore Anna DiGiallardo was 10th at 106 and junior Makaliah Wilson was eleventh, scoring a 107.

“The girls have the best chance placing at state,” Owens said. “You always get surprises. Anyone of the girls can kick up at any time.”

For Ronan, junior Paige Delauranti placed seventh with a 104 and senior Alex Dulmes was ninth at 106. Both qualified for state.

“Paige and Alex were the ones that I expected to go,” Paulson said.

The Montana State Golf Tournament will take place this weekend in Laurel.

You’ll have to excuse me for stating the obvious, I’m assuming everyone in Polson already knows this but Neal Lewing is one heck of an actor. I was first able to see the Port Polson player as Judge Turpin in the production of Sweeney Todd last November.
