HATRED: Merchants of fear keeping busy
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 15 years, 11 months AGO
I would like to respond to a letter titled "Islam: Look deeper for truth" where a Hans Neumann responded about an item earlier about that proposed community center in New York two blocks away from the site of the World Trade Center.
Evidently Mr. Neumann did not read the item because he did not respond or argue any of the facts that were presented other than his hated for Muslims. The point of the piece was to state that the Republican-right uses a political strategy of Wedge Issues to manufacture hatred and to manufacture fear among the "Willfully Ignorant" as Mr. Neumann puts it, "to lap up and repeat every lie they so desperately wish were true." The FAUX News (FOX) and the rights talking heads fuel the fear of what you don't understand by using these wedge-issues to create a wedge in public opinion like the presidents birth certificate or fanning the hatred of the president because he's black. This community center was a non-issue over a year ago when it was first proposed. Even that Laura lady on FAUX news said it was fine, but recanted when it became a right-wing issue.
The Right-wing and the Right-wing media has created so much misinformation, hatred and fear as a political strategy it has gotten to the point where Mr. Neumann's "Useful Idiots" are the ones that believe and follow the spewing of Beck, the drugster Limbaugh, Billy "O" and Hannity. The ones that disgrace this country by disgracing the president. The ones that are afraid to have the president address kids in school. The ones that can't see that all the crap in the media is just a political ploy to distract you from the real and far more important issues that are facing America.
