Lewis Thomas (Tom) Miners, 74, resident of Coeur d'Alene, passed away Oct. 1, 2010, at home. He was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Ishpeming, Mich., to Allyvion and Signa (Oust) Miners.
He married Sandra L. (Kauffman) Miners on Dec. 10, 1955, in Anaheim, Calif. Tom worked as a power lineman with the Department of Water and Power for the city of L.A. for 35 years. He enjoyed golf and coaching the children when they were younger and was a referee. He did a marathon at the age of 55 and worked out at the gym regularly.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sandra, at home; sons, Randall of Rathdrum, Timothy of Winnemucca, Nev., and Bruce of Coeur d'Alene; daughter Karen Lynn Bay of Bishop, Calif.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Lewis (Tommy) Miners Jr., sister Carolyn, brother Allyvion, sister Signe and grandson Reed.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene.
