McNabb wins in return to Philly

Donovan McNabb heard cheers and the home team got all the boos.

McNabb threw for 125 yards and one touchdown, leading the visiting Washington Redskins (2-2) to a 17-12 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) on Sunday in his first game against his former team.

Michael Vick was forced out in the first quarter with chest and rib injuries in his first start in front of the hometown crowd. Kevin Kolb, who was supposed to be McNabb's successor all along, replaced Vick after losing his starting job because he got hurt in Week 1.

So, the McNabb-Vick showdown turned into the McNabb-Kolb matchup everyone originally anticipated. But this one didn't live up to the hype.

Washington had 169 yards rushing, including 55 by Clinton Portis before he left with a groin injury.

Jaguars 31, Colts 28: At Jacksonville, Fla., Josh Scobee's 59-yard field goal on the final play gave Jacksonville (2-2) a surprise win over Indianapolis (2-2).

The Jaguars rebounded from consecutive lopsided losses - the worst back-to-back setbacks in team history - and handed the six-time defending AFC South champion Colts their second division loss.

Ravens 17, Steelers 14: Joe Flacco withstood host Pittsburgh's goal-line stand and go-ahead touchdown in the closing minutes to throw an 18-yard scoring pass to former Seattle Seahawk T.J. Houshmandzadeh with 32 seconds remaining in Baltimore's (3-1) win over the Steelers (3-1).

Flacco found Anquan Boldin on two passes for 12 yards and Houshmandzadeh for 10 to set up the winning score.

Texans 31, Raiders 24: Arian Foster returned from an early game benching to score on a 74-yard run and a 10-yard catch in the second half to lead visiting Houston (3-1) past Oakland (1-3).

Foster took the game over in the second half. On the second play from scrimmage, he burst through a big hole and raced to the 74-yard score, breaking a tackle by Michael Huff on the way to the end zone.

Chargers 41, Cardinals 10: Antonio Gates became the seventh tight end in NFL history with 500 catches, including touchdown receptions of 33 and 26 yards from Philip Rivers, to lead host San Diego (2-2) over outmanned Arizona (2-2).

Chargers rookie running back Ryan Mathews scored his first NFL touchdown on a 15-yard run late in the third quarter. Fullback Mike Tolbert ran 16 times for 100 yards - his first 100-yard game in three seasons - and one score. Gates had seven catches for 144 yards.

Browns 23, Bengals 20: Peyton Hillis rumbled for 102 yards and a touchdown, Phil Dawson kicked three field goals and host Cleveland (1-3) finally held a fourth-quarter lead in beating Cincinnati (2-2).

The Browns withstood a 10-catch, 220-yard performance by Terrell Owens, who also moved into second place on the NFL career list in receiving yards.

Saints 16, Panthers 14: Only days after rejoining the Saints at age 46, John Carney, signed on Tuesday, hit three field goals to help host New Orleans (3-1) keep Carolina (0-4) winless.

Rookie QB Jimmy Clausen had a 55-yard TD pass to Jonathan Stewart, and DeAngelo Williams had a 39-yard TD run that gave Carolina a 14-10 lead in the third quarter.

Packers 28, Lions 26: At Green Bay, Wis., Charles Woodson returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown and Green Bay (3-1) narrowly held off a comeback by Detroit (0-4).

Aaron Rodgers threw for 181 yards with three touchdowns but also had a pair of interceptions.

Falcons 16, 49ers 14: Matt Bryant kicked a 42-yard field goal with 2 seconds left to lift host Atlanta (3-1) over winless San Francisco (0-4).

The Falcons got a big break to set up the winning points when receiver Roddy White forced the 49ers' Nate Clements to fumble away an interception and keep Atlanta's drive alive.

Broncos 26, Titans 20: At Nashville, Tenn., Kyle Orton threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Correll Buckhalter with 1:33 left as Denver (2-2) rallied to beat Tennessee (2-2).

The Broncos clinched the game when they recovered a fumble by rookie Marc Mariani from Montana on the ensuing short kickoff, and Matt Prater kicked his fourth field goal of the game to pad the lead.

Jets 38, Bills 14: At Orchard Park, N.Y., LaDainian Tomlinson had his best game in nearly two years, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns to lead New York (3-1) over winless Buffalo (0-4).

Tomlinson had the 47th 100-yard game of his 10-year career - and first since he had 105 on Oct. 26, 2008, when he was with San Diego. With 12,831 yards rushing, Tomlinson also passed Tony Dorsett to move into seventh place on the NFL's career list.

Giants 17, Bears 3: At East Rutherford, N.J., New York (2-2) knocked out Jay Cutler with a nine-sack first half and limited Chicago (3-1) to 110 total yards.

Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown against a defense that had allowed 119 yards on the ground in its first three games and Lawrence Tynes kicked a 22-yard field goal as the Giants snapped a two-game losing streak.
