Diane Horn was born May 20, 1945, and went to heaven Oct. 3, 2010. She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Diane Mae DuPerault was born in Whittier, Calif., the second and most precious daughter of Mary Jane and Ralph DuPerault. The family lived in Montibello, Calif., where Diane grew up a happy and playful child. As a young teen the family moved to Wrightwood, Calif. She was very popular in school and made friends easily.

Diane met and married her husband in Wrightwood, then moving to Ontarion, Calif., where she started her family. She was blessed with four wonderful children, three boys and a girl. The family then found their home in Rathdrum where she called home for the last 39 years.

Diane, as everyone knows, had a talent for cooking and it was a passion of hers. Using that talent she opened the Rockin Robin Cafe in Coeur d'Alene and brought smiles to everyone she touched. Not giving up that passion, but deciding it was time for retirement in 2008 she sold her beloved restaurant and worked part time at restaurants with her friends.

Diane was loved by all who knew her. She was always fun to be with. Diane had a great sense of humor and a wonderful zest for life.

Diane is survived by her children, Darin, Arlene, Aaron and Ron Horn; grandchildren Valerie, Christian, Shawn, Jordan, Nicholle, Michael and Kimberly; great-grandchildren Colby, Damian and Charlie Blue; father Ralph DuPerault; sister Christine Duperee; uncles Erwin and Don DuPerault and many many great friends. Diane will be missed.

If you would like to attend the services for her they will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Real Life Ministries, 1866 N. Cecil Road, Post Falls, Bldg. No. 2. There will be a potluck Wake immediately following the service at Stubb Meyer Park, 8320 W. Fourth St., Rathdrum. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, is entrusted with the cremation.

A memorial fund has been set up at any Wells Fargo Bank for those wishing to help the family.
