Maxine J. Peterson
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 14 years, 3 months AGO
Maxine J. Peterson was reunited in spirit with her husband Pete, daughter Lynn, son Johnny on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010.
She was born in Portland, Ore., in 1932. From there she lived in Bellingham, Wash., and eventually landed in Butte, Mont., with her first husband Tom McIntee. In Butte, they had four children, Lynn, Ed, Bob and Johnny. In 1963, she married her second husband, Albert Peterson better known as Pete. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1968 with their daughter, Connie. During their time together, Maxine and Pete owned several businesses including the Lamplighter Motel, the Sandman Hotel, Peterson Accounting Services, Maxine's Ceramics and Nu You Fitness. Later in life, Maxine owned and operated Maxine's Evergreen Floral.
Through thick and thin, Maxine was always there for her family and friends and the lights of her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them unconditionally and cherished every moment she could spend with them. Whether it was making candy at the holidays, talking about work, school, music or sports, offering a shoulder to cry on, or discussing the "Harry Potter" stories, she loved being a part of each and every one of our lives and we loved being a part of hers.
Maxine was a true believer in there being a time for everything. She knew now was the time for her to join the ones she'd lost and look down and smile upon the ones she left. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Ed and Bob; daughter Connie and her husband, Bob; grandchildren Brandy, Stacey, Nick, Justin, Shaun, Bradley, Christina, Kyle and Shawn Marie; great-grandchildren MacKenzie, Taylor, Travis, Tanner, Darian, Ian, Johnny and Cole; and sister Duane.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Please visit Maxine's memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
