VICTOR - Coming off a bye week, the Arlee Warriors (2-2) used the opportunity to heal up and run over Victor last Friday, 60-20.
The Warriors had 269 yards rushing on 35 carries thanks to a strong performance from the offensive line.
"They controlled the line of scrimmage," Arlee head coach Scott Palmer said. "Our front five took control when they needed to take control."
Arlee jumped out to a 30-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Senior running back Cole Rice led the team with 64 yards on 10 carriers. Three other running backs for Arlee also had over 50 yards rushing. Palmer said that running backs were getting five-to-ten yards before getting contact with opposing players.
The defensive was stout, allowing under 50 yards in the first half.
"Our kids played up and played them in tight coverage," Palmer said.
Arlee did a good job keeping the Victor offense in front of them despite a strong passing threat.
"Our players wanted to prove that they're a tough team," Palmer said.
Homecoming is up next for the Warriors, as they take on Noxon at 7 p.m. on Friday.
"There's a lot of activity but our kids play tough on homecoming," Palmer said.
Arlee is currently tied with Noxon and Lincoln for third place in the conference, and if they win out they would clinch it. The conference will take four teams to the playoffs this year.
