The Badgers varsity volleyball team scored 25-21, 25-19, 25-18 in their Intermountain League loss Thursday at Priest River.

The varsity volleyball team also lost in Libby Friday in a non-league game. The match scores were 15-25, 25-21 and 24-16.

Markayle Acord had five blocks, 10 kills and three aces.

Olivia Langs had five digs and three aces. Miranda Stippich had 10 kills and five digs. Five kills were added by  Mattea Bertling along with three digs and two aces. Ivy Dirks came in with 26 assists and Tessa Payne had seven kills.

On Sept. 28, The Lady Badgers played St. Maries at home and lost in three sets.

The match ended with scores of 7-25, 9-25 and 16-25.

Markayle Acord had three kills, two blocks and five ace serves. Miranda Stippich had eight digs.  Mattea Bertling added two kills to the match and Ivy Dirks had eight assists while Tessa Payne added two kills.

“The team has been struggling with hitting,” said coach Janis Tucker.  “ Definitely our best game of the week, we were evenly matched with the Loggers, but we struggled with our serving. Although we improved each game in reducing our serving errors, it wasn't enough to take the match.”

Tucker said the teams win/loss record isn’t where they want it to b but the girls have great attitudes and they continue to play hard, work hard and focus on the next game.

The next league game is at 7:30  p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at home against Kellogg.
