Dorrence "Bill" Hildreth, 91, of Sandpoint, died Oct. 12, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. He was born March 28, 1919, in Sandpoint to Edward and Mary (Martin) Hildreth.

Bill served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Wilma Fromm on July 28, 1945, in Sandpoint. He was employed as a construction inspector on hydroelectric projects for Stone and Webster Engineering in Boston, Mass., the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the SP & S Railroad. He moved with his wife to Hayden in 1968 where he served on the board of directors for the Avondale Irrigation District.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma in 2005. He is survived by a son, Edward Hildreth of Tumwater, Wash.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at the Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Coeur d'Alene.
