MOSES LAKE - North Central Washington 2B league heavies Thorp came into Moses Lake last night and showed the Columbia Basin Secondary Phoenix team why they hold such a firm grip on a chance for the title.

Thorp would leave Moses Lake 3-0 (25-18, 25-9, 25-21) winners but not before the Phoenix (4-5, 3-5) would give it their best shot.

"It was a heartbreaking loss to Thorp," Columbia Basin Secondary head coach Terri Pixlee said. "But with three of my six starters out of the game, it was hard for the girls to set the pace and play their kind of game."

Crystal Lloyd finished with five kills and two aces for the Phoenix while teammates Emilee Hieronymus ended up with three aces and two digs, and Jerinn Anderson had two digs for Columbia Basin Secondary.
