Vals fall to Thompson Falls
Jordan Dawson | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 14 years, 6 months AGO
The Valkyries volleyball team had the unexpected happen Thursday night in Thompson Falls — they lost.
Prior to the match, Bigfork had lost just one conference match this season (a 3-1 defeat to Eureka). The Vals won the first set 28-26, but dropped the next three 26-24, 26-24 and 25-17.
After defeating Eureka last week in the teams' second meeting of the season, Bigfork had been on top of the District 7B standings with Eureka in second and Mission in third. However, the loss now puts the Vals' record equal with Eureka's so the two share the top spot.
Bigfork's will play a non-conference match tomorrow at Stillwater Christian. Freshmen will start things off at 10 a.m., the junior varsity plays at 11:30 a.m. and varsity plays at 1 p.m.
