MOSES LAKE - Two bloop scores were enough to carry the visiting Eisenhower Patriots to a key 2-1 win over Moses Lake's girls soccer team last night at Lions Field.

In a game between two teams previously tied for third place in the Big 9, the Chiefs now find themselves needing to sweep their last two matches and hope for an Ike stumble to claim third at districts.

If not, they would most likely have to travel to Yakima in a loser-out game next week to determine the Big 9's third-seed at regionals.

"Right now we need to just make sure we stay in there," Moses Lake head coach Ric Char said. "If we win our last two games we should get a home playoff game. If we win at least one game we should still qualify for fourth. With two we have a decent chance to host."

Moses Lake's (7-6-1, 5-5) score came in the 32nd minute when Sydney Kimbro rewarded a Magie Munoz assist to tie the game at 1-1.

But Eisenhower (6-4 in Big 9 play) scored before halftime and spent the entire second half weathering a ferocious Moses Lake attempt to even the odds.

"We dominated that second half," Char said. "I put it heavy on offense for the last 20 minutes but we couldn't punch it in. We put a ton of pressure on them but we just couldn't get it done."
