Stillwater Christian School finished the regular volleyball season undefeated (26-0) on Tuesday with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-13 sweep of visiting Eureka.

Julia Smith led the Cougar effort with nine kills and 14 digs.

Selene Elster had eight kills and Tasha Mikita added seven kills and three blocks for the Lions.

"This was senior night and we honored four seniors (Smith, Colleen Trageser, Bridjett Miller and Linnea Hashley) who have contributed not only to this team but to our entire program for four seasons," said Stillwater coach Dave Shawback.

"Eureka came out strong, fighting to a 5-0 lead and eventually tying the first set at 13-all before we answered with better defense and serving.

"My girls served so strong tonight, 100 percent with 12 aces," Shawback said.

"Kathrynn Gerard had a great game at the net with four blocks and six kills. These girls played great this season. We did not have as a goal to be undefeated, but we really pushed all season to focus on ‘this play, next play.'

"These girls are playing some awesome volleyball," the coach said.

The Cougars begin play at the Montana Christian Athletic Association state tournament on Thursday at Stillwater.
