Idaho for Wildlife installed new signs for the Myrtle Creek Preserve.

“We are very grateful to their efforts,” said Bonners Ferry City Councilman Tom Mayo.

The preserve encompasses the Mrytle Creek drainage which is Bonners Ferry’s source of drinking water.  Because of this the area was closed to fishing and hunting but over the years the signs have deteriorated and sate regualations have not always been enforced.

With the cooperation of Idaho Fish and Game it is the city’s hope that next years hunting and fishing regulations will define this area and its restrictions for everyone to see.

The signs are now up and an important first step.

Guy Patchen and his wife Christine, daughter ReiAnna and a fellow member of the Idaho for Wildlife John Swenson took the time from their  busy schedules to post the signs even though they are not advocates of the area being closed to hunting.
