Peaks and Valleys in Lake County

PEAK Charlo Football

Remember when you would play Madden on rookie mode? Not even that equates to just how dominant the Vikings are after a 49-0 victory pushed them to 7-0 on the season.

PEAK Polson freshman Claudia Hewston, cross country

A week after winning the Pirates Duel in Polson, freshman phenom Hewston placed second at the Northwestern A Conference Championships with a time of 18:14. Polson has more talented runners than the Boston Marathon.

PEAK Mission Football's run game

The rumblin' Bulldogs have more bite than a Grizzly Bear (and a better run game than the University of Montana Grizzlies). Junior Austin Durglo rushed for 261 yards and Senior Lane Wheeler added another 161. Somewhere Bill Parcells is smiling approvingly.

VALLEY Sanders County teams

With Plains-Hot Springs losing to Mission, Sanders County teams have gone o-fer against Lake County in football. Zero wins against Arlee, Charlo and Mission. Shouldn't we get some sort of cup or trophy for something like that?

VALLEY MSU Bobcats

A 34-7 loss to Northern Arizona drops them out of first place of the Big Sky Conference. The two teams tied for the lead? Eastern Washington and Montana. This year's Cat-Griz game is going to have more tension than a Lake County Sheriff's election.
