Police report that a missing Post Falls father and daughter who went hunting in the St. Joe area have been found safe this morning.

Matthew Gering, 37, and his daughter, Kia Gering, 14, failed to return from a hunting trip in an area bordered by Shoshone and Benewah counties on Monday night.

"They were located in the Avery area," said Post Falls Police Capt. Pat Knight. "A Fairchild AFB (Air Force Base) helicopter located them and transported them out. They appear to be in good health."
