County budget hearing is tonight
If folks want to put in their two cents on the Kootenai County budget, they will have their chance tonight.
The county commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. on the proposed budget for the 2010-11 fiscal year.
After the commissioners recently retooled the budget, the county is no longer calling for any tax increase.
The overall budget is set for $72,151,802, which is $1.59 million less than the current fiscal year.
The biggest proposed changes include boosting the sheriff's department funding to $19,601,729, an increase of $887,201.
The county vessel budget would also bump up $160,406 to $678,470.
The hearing will be in Room 1 of the Kootenai County Administration Building.
The rest of the budget can be viewed on the county website at http://www.kcgov.us/ under Financial Reports.
