Eight newcomers to Bonners Ferry High School make up the C volleyball team, and coach Paula Petesch is looking forward to the season.

“The team is a small group of freshman girls who are very athletic and work very hard,” Petesch said. “I am very optimistic and think they will have a good season.”

The team played their first games on Friday, each game for the freshman level  consist of three matches.  The first set of matches was against Lakeland with the Lady Badgers winning one and losing two.  The second game was against Timberlake and the Bonners Ferry girls won all three matches.

Petesch said there will be two or three girls who will rotate to the junior varsity team for certain games.

“There will only be four games where our floaters will be eligible to play on the junior varsity team, we will have to see where the season takes us,” Petesch said.
