Darlene Kay Speer, 65, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Healthcare Northwest in Kalispell. She was born on April 17, 1945, to Ralph and Georgina Yarde. Darlene attended Flathead High School. She married Ronald A. Speer on July 1, 1967. Darlene worked at Ace Powell Bronze Foundry and enjoyed being a housewife. She loved horses, birds, donkeys, dogs, mules, miniature donkeys and horses, horseback riding, motorcycle riding, four-wheelers, painting and shopping. Darlene is survived by her husband, Ronald Speer, of Columbia Falls; son, Clint Speer, and grandson, Drew Speer, of Kalispell; son, Cory Speer, and granddaughters, Morgan Speer and Josie Speer, of Spirit Lake, Idaho; and brother, Dick Yarde, of Kalispell. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at First Baptist Church , 6232 Hwy. 93, Whitefish, with Pastor Eugene Speer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made on Darlene s behalf to St. Jude Children s Hospital, St. Jude Children s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
