Thursday prep action: Volleyball picks up win, soccer falls to Whitefish

Friday morning the Valkyrie volleyball team headed to Columbia Falls to take part in the Northwest/Southwest Tip-off Tournament, but before doing so the girls picked up a win in their first league match of the season Thursday night at home against Thompson Falls.
Bigfork beat the Lady Blue Hawks in four games. The Vals won the first game 26-24, but lost the second 25-23 before going on to dominate the remaining two games 25-12 and 25-20, respectively.
At the NW/SW tournament the Vals took on Anaconda, Dillon and Frenchtown on Friday. Bigfork plays Stevensville at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Sept. 11 at Columbia Falls High School before going into bracket play, which begins at 12:30 p.m.

Soccer teams fall to Whitefish
Also playing host Thursday were the Bigfork boys and girls soccer teams, which both fell to Whitefish in conference play.
The girls dropped their match 4-0 to the Lady Bulldogs and the boys lost 5-0.
The Viking and Valkyrie soccer teams travel to Libby on Tuesday. Thursday they will host Columbia Falls.
