SANDPOINT — Looking to make an early statement in the 4A North, the Sandpoint volleyball team played with plenty of energy, sweeping the Bears 25-17, 25-22 and 25-19 Thursday night in a 4A Inland Empire League showdown at Les Rogers Court.
Sam Buratto swatted 10 kills to go with three service aces, Blake Plaster added 23 digs, Ariel Moe 15 assists and Mackenzie Jones 13 assists, and Alex Bucholtz seven kills to lead the spirited Bulldogs (2-1, 1-0 4A IEL).
“I feel like we have the upper hand now,” said Sandpoint coach Karen Alsager, who loved her team’s energy. “That’s two matches back to back where we consistently played with excitement. That’s a good sign.”
Sandpoint is at the Lakeland Invite on Saturday.
