DRUMMOND — The defending Class C state champions handed Arlee (1-1) their first loss of the season, defeating the Warriors last Friday 26-6.

Senior running back Cole Rice scored Arlee’s lone touchdown of the game with a three-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Drummond led just 6-0 in the first quarter, but surged ahead with a 14-point second quarter to take the 20-0 lead at halftime.

They used a balanced attack, scoring on a 58-yard run and 58-yard pass by quarterback Darius Pool.

It was also Arlee’s first conference loss of the season.

They’ll get a big shot at redemption by hosting Charlo at 7 p.m. this Friday. There’s a good chance that game will decide who will go to the playoffs this year.

You’ll have to excuse me for stating the obvious, I’m assuming everyone in Polson already knows this but Neal Lewing is one heck of an actor. I was first able to see the Port Polson player as Judge Turpin in the production of Sweeney Todd last November.
