Coach Greg Trenerry marked his 100th win as the Columbia Falls girls soccer team blanked Libby last Saturday 7-0.

"It's just a matter of staying here long enough," Trenerry joked after the game as the girls chanted "100th win! 100th win!"

Trenerry's record is 100-50-16.

The Libby victory was a team effort.

"It took us a little while to get things going," Trenerry said. "We did a lot of the things we've been working on. We played as a team and we cleared the bench."

Wing Madison Sandefer kicked off the scoring at the 13 minute mark on an assist from Danielle Delventhal. Then Elena Potter knocked a shot from outside the 18-yard line 10 minutes later. Delventhal then added a goal at the 33 minute mark on a feed from McKenzie Kiser and Julia Burgi knocked one in four minutes later on an assist from Delventhal.

The score was 4-0 at the half. In the second half the Kats kept the pressure on.

Kiser scored at the 55th minute on a nice pass from Halee Perkins, then Melissa Livingston knocked one in on the 65th minute on a pass from Delventhal and Kiser rounded out the scoring with a goal in the final two minutes on a feed from Burgi.

All told, the Kats out shot the Loggers 19-7. The girls also tallied 10 corner kicks, while Libby had none.

The Kats are now 3-1, (2-0) and play rival Whitefish tonight (Thursday) away at 4 p.m. and then face Bigfork away Friday at 6 p.m.
