WHITEFISH - The shutout streak continues in Whitefish.
The Bulldogs girls soccer team turned in another invincible defensive effort to go along with three goals to defeat Northern A rival Columbia Falls 3-0 on Thursday.
"Today was probably one of our best games that we've played so far," Whitefish coach Erin Morrison said.
Whitefish has earned a shutout the previous three games. On offense, junior co-captain Natalie Gayner opened the game with a goal in the fourth minute and later assisted on a goal by senior Presley Pritchard. Freshman Caroline Carbo scored just before the half unassisted.
Whitefish improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in conference.
Whitefish junior co-captain Sam Dittman, who assisted on Gayner's first goal, was part of a dogged defense that kept Columbia Falls off balance. Morrison credited Dittman, Megan Danczyk and Charlotte Kamarath with leading the defensive midfield. Senior co-captain Jordan Carper chipped in as stopper with a strong performance.
"(Columbia Falls) always give us a hard game," Morrison said.
"But today we weren't beatable."
