Melvin R. Grover of Pinehurst, born April 18, 1932, in Portland, Ore., passed away peacefully at his daughter and son-in-law's home, with his family at his side on Sept. 19, 2010, in Coeur d'Alene.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Leona Eileen (Payne) Grover with whom he had a wonderful life filled with many memories. They had three children: Son, Rodney John Cook and his wife Bonnie; daughter Donella Eaton and her husband Dale; and son Melvin Richard Grover Jr. and his wife Gabi. Mel also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the proud owner/operator of Mel's Drywall for many years. He loved the outdoors and gold mining. Mel loved his family and friends and leaves them with many memories to hold onto. Mel is at peace with his Lord and Savior.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814. A reception will follow the service. He will be interred at the Veterans Cemetery in Davenport, Wash.
