Storm causes flooding in parts of Ephrata

EPHRATA - A Sunday afternoon thunderstorm flooded streets and at

least one house in Ephrata.

The thunderstorm caused a creek near First Avenue Northwest to

overflow, flooding at least one home on Fairview Street Northwest

and filling a business parking lot.

The thunderstorm caused a creek near First Avenue Northwest to overflow, flooding at least one home on Fairview Street Northwest and filling a business parking lot.

Ephrata Fire Departmen Batallion Chief Kyle Foreman said the homeowner heard the water pouring down the creek from uphill, shortly before the rain and hail hit the city. The water caused minor damage to the residence.

The rain also flooded a portion of Basin Street, closing the street until roughly 6 p.m. Foreman said it's unknown whether any of the businesses were damaged.
