Richard Pimentel, a Vietnam veteran whose life inspired the award-winning movie, “Music Within,” will be speaking in Libby on Wednesday, Sept. 29.
Pimentel, now a successful trainer and motivational speaker, will attend a free screening of “Music Within” on the evening of Sept. 29 at the Dome Theater. Afterward, he will be available for discussion.
“Music Within,” which received numerous awards and positive media reviews, follows Pimental’s life from abused child to deaf war veteran who befriends Art Honeyman, a victim of cerebral palsy.
Pimental’s struggles to obtain his dreams after his life-changing war injury and his close association with Honeyman inspired him to become an advocate for the disabled.
“Music Within” is rated R for language.
On the morning of Thursday, Sept. 30, Pimentel will deliver the presentation, “Challenges of Employment in a Distressed Economy,” which will be structured to inspire a range of attendees such as employers, anyone who works with disabled individuals, returning military veterans and disabled individuals themselves.
The Libby Job Service Employer Committee is partnering with local sponsors to provide the program.
