Whitefish golfers rule divisional

RONAN — All the honors were snapped up by Whitefish on Saturday at the Northwestern A divisional golf tournament at Mission Mountain Golf Course.

Whitefish won both team titles and had individuals claims both medalist honors.

Reed Platke won his third-straight divisional, shooting a 73 for a four-stroke victory over Jordan Mueller of Columbia Falls.

Platke won last year with a 73 at Meadow Lake Golf Resort. The year before, Platke needed a playoff to claim medalist honors.

Kiley McConnell was the lone girl to break 80, shooting a 78 for a seven-shot victory over Whitefish teammate Danielle McCulley.

McConnell finished third last year.

The Whitefish boys, with four golfers in the top seven spots, took first place with a 311 team score.

The Whitefish girls, with four in the top eight, shot a 364 winning total.

The top three teams and top 15 individuals advance to state, Oct. 1-2 at Laurel.
