MOSES LAKE  - A conservatism Tea Party rally takes place at the Civic Park on Saturday.

The event runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Moses Lake Civic Park next to the public library.

Rep. Bill Hinkle, R-Cle Elum, is scheduled to speak at the rally.

U.S. Senate Candidate Dino Rossi, Congressman Doc Hasting, R-4th District, and Washington State Supreme Court Judge Richard Sanders have all been invited to attend and speak at the rally. None have confirmed so far, according to rally co-organizer Alan Odermann.

Rally organizers said they wanted to have the rally date close to the time when voter pamphlets were mailed out.

"We want people to understand what the current administration and Congress is doing from both sides and then go out and vote," said Odermann.

The rally is organized by the Moses Lake Grant County Tea Party Coalition, a grassroots establishment that started in February 2009.

This is the fourth rally the coalition has organized.

The first two were in 2009 and the most recent one was held on April 15, tax day. Odermann said more than 600 people attended.

He said he hopes this rally will have close to 500 supporters show up.

"We want to be visible to politicians, let them know that what they are doing is not OK and it will not be tolerated. They need to be held accountable," said Odermann.

He encourages people to dress in red, white and blue clothing and bring flags and signs.

Inappropriate signs will not be tolerated, he said.

"I want people to feel like they are not alone in the way they feel. There is a large group of us that want to restore our politics back to following the Constitution," he said.
