POST FALLS - A carpet cleaner told police he was robbed by three males while working at a Post Falls apartment.

The victim, a 31-year-old Coeur d'Alene man who works for Deep Clean Tech, said he was cleaning carpet at 1608 E. Third Ave., No. 1, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday when three males who appeared to be in their 20s held him up.

"One of the suspects held a hard object in the center of his back that resembled the barrel of a gun," Post Falls police Capt. Greg McLean said.

The victim was told, "Empty your pockets and give me all that you have," McLean said.

Two other subjects stood in front of the victim.

"After what cash he had in his pockets was emptied, he said he was told to get out," McLean said.

The victim, who did not see a weapon, was not injured.

One suspect was described as white, 5-foot-10, with a blond scruffy beard and a medium build. He was wearing a red baseball cap, blue-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

A second suspect was described as a 5-foot-10 clean-shaven Hispanic man with a medium build. He was wearing a white baseball cap, green-hooded sweatshirt and brown low-top tennis shoes.

The victim didn't see the third suspect.

There were no witnesses.

The victim called his boss about the incident a half-hour later from the Ross Point Hico gas station on Highway 41, then called police, McLean said.

The victim told police that he didn't call sooner and from a location closer to the apartment because he was distraught over the incident. He also said he couldn't find his cell phone at the time.

When officers responded to the apartment with a K-9 unit, no suspects were found.

Those with information are urged to call police at 773-3517 or leave an anonymous tip at www.postfallspolice.com.
