THS sweeps past Valley Christian

The Troy High School volleyball team posted its first victory of the season on Saturday by downing Valley Christian in impressive fashion on homecoming weekend, 25-9, 25-17, 25-17.

The Lady Trojans dominated nearly every facet of the game with advantages in aces (15-5), kills (31-7) and assists (25-5).

Kimmy Klin and Michaela Curry shared team-high honors in the serving department with four aces apiece. Jackie Pepiot had kills and Hannah Tallmadge recorded two blocks. Alyssa Olds had 24 set assists and Klin also had six digs.

Troy (0-4, 1-5) was scheduled to play at Plains-Hot Springs on Tuesday. The team’s next match is set for Saturday at Florence.
