East Valley 1, OTHELLO 1 (Shootout win)

OTHELLO - A 4-3 edge by East Valley in a shootout against Othello was enough for the visitors to claim a Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) win last night.

Othello (3-4, 1-2) led 1-0 on a Lindsay Garza goal in the 21st minute and East Valley would tie proceedings with a 51st goal by Grecia Carrillo.

"Play went back n forth most of the game with East Valley having more control in the middle," Othello head coach Kevin McDonald said. "We took advantage of our limited shots and also missed some crucial open nets. Our girls are getting better every game but the defensive play of Grace Allard, Ana Rodriguez, Marissa Martinez and Jackie Quiroz was over the top. Not to mention Allesha Reyes in goal was outstanding with 15 saves."

East Valley outshot Othello 22-8.
