Vikes and Vals pick up weekend wins

The Vikings football team took on Thompson Falls on Friday night for Bigfork's Homecoming game and came away with a 42-20 victory over the Bluehawks.
Travis Knoll scored five touchdowns in the District 7B Conference win that moves the Vikings' record to 3-0, 4-1.
The following night the Valkyries volleyball team hosted Superior in a nonconference match and won in three sets.
The Vals had little trouble getting past their opponents from District 6B, which shares the Western Division with the Vals' district, 7B, but they won the first game 25-17, the second 25-12 and the third 25-17.
The Valkyries have a game Tuesday, Oct. 5, in Mission and host Eureka on Thursday, Oct. 7. Both are conference games.
The Vikings play Friday, Oct. 8, in Fairfield for a nonconference, but highly anticipated game.
