Mandie Fleming, of Whitefish, will be a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune television show on Wednesday, April 6.

Fleming said she’s a big fan of the game show and enjoyed watching it with her father while growing up. She works as a health educator and spends her free time making jewelry.

A Minnesota Vikings fan, Fleming said she hopes to use her winnings to buy a new car. Back in January, Fleming and her family won $10,000 for the city’s parks and rec department in a competition held by the NFL and Proctor & Gamble.

Former Vikings running back Robert Smith came to the Flemings’ Whitefish home to deliver the check. The Flemings chose the city’s after-school program to receive the money.

Fleming will appear during “Going Green” week. Wheel of Fortune hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White will showcase how the show has become more “green” and will offer tips for making their lifestyles more environmentally-friendly.

The Volt, Chevrolet’s new electric car, will be featured during the bonus round, and White will wear four eco-friendly “green” dresses designed by ecoSkin, an apparel company that designs contemporary eco-conscious clothing for women.
